Residential pools, from oceanfront decks to the back yard

Big, small, round or square, designed, built and looked after by Pool Docs for homes across the tri-state area.

Chapter 01

What does the lot decide before the pool does?

The pool for grandma and grandpa's back yard and the one on an oceanfront deck start the same way: with the ground. Soil, slope, water table, equipment access and the view from the kitchen window all narrow the options before a shape is ever drawn.

Symmetry at the ocean shows how far the ground can push back. The client dreamed it up, Pool Docs collaborated with a great designer and contractor, and the build happened on the ocean's edge in sandy soil while battling high tide. Sand moves and the water table rises with the tide, so a job like that is planned around both. As Pool Docs says of the result, it's spectacular, original and absolutely beautiful.

Big, small, round or square: who is it for?

Pool Docs loves pools big, small, round and square, and the right one is the one that suits the yard and the people using it. A family with grandkids wants a gentle shallow end and clear sight lines from the patio. A household that entertains wants a deck that works for a crowd.

Finish is where a pool becomes yours. Swimming in Art began with 24x24 tiles designed with a Central America based artist, painted, glazed and tempered in his shop in Guatemala, then packed one by one, shipped to Florida and driven to New Jersey. Overflow Life went the other way: marble slabs all around and water brought right to the top for a knife's edge that blends into the patio.

Chapter 03

From design to build to monthly upkeep

Pool Docs will walk you through every step: design, then build, then monthly maintenance, so you and the grandkids are swimming in no time. One company from the first sketch means nobody has to explain the pool to a stranger later.
