Fire and water, built together
Firepits, fountains and waterfalls are the features people gather around, so they work best when they're planned with the pool instead of bolted on afterward. A waterfall or a scupper needs plumbing and a pump sized for it. A firepit needs room around it and some thought about wind and seating.
Pool Docs builds all of it, and the company's own line is that there is no dream it can't create and bring to life in the quickest, coolest and most beautiful way possible. Start with what you want to see and hear at dusk, and the water and flame follow from that.

Cabanas, kitchens and patios: the rooms outside
A cabana, an outdoor kitchen and a paver patio turn a pool deck into a set of rooms. Each has its own needs: shade and a place to change, counter space with gas, water and power run to it, and a patio base laid so the pavers stay level through freeze and thaw.
Because the pool and everything around it come from one crew in Lakewood, the paver edge meets the coping cleanly and the kitchen sits where the cook can still keep an eye on the water.
Chapter 03
Evenings, kids and the long light after supper
Sunken trampolines give kids somewhere to bounce that sits flush with the ground. Outdoor lighting, music and TVs carry the space past sundown, from the path to the glow under the water.
