Pool covers

Electric, hydraulic and safety pool covers

Automatic and safety covers for pools across the tri-state area, arranged through the Pool Docs office in Lakewood.

Chapter 01

Electric covers open and close at a switch

An electric automatic cover runs on a motor. Turn a key or press a switch and the cover travels along tracks at the edges of the pool, closing across the water or rolling back to open it. Nobody has to haul a cover off by hand or fold it on the deck.

A cover that closes in a minute gets used, and that's most of its value. Leaves, grit and debris stay out of the water, evaporation slows, and a closed pool is a safer pool when nobody's watching it.

How the tracks and the housing fit depends on the shape of the pool and the deck around it, which is why covers are talked through at the Lakewood office before anything is ordered.

Hydraulic covers do the same job on a different drive

A hydraulic cover does the same automatic job as an electric one, but it's moved by hydraulic pressure rather than an electric motor. To the person at the pool the result looks alike: a closed surface across the water, opened and closed on demand.

Which drive suits a pool comes down to the pool, the equipment area and how the deck was built. Pool Docs installs both, so the choice follows the property instead of a single product being pushed onto every yard from Lakewood to the shore.

Chapter 03

Safety covers hold the pool shut through the off-season

A safety cover is there to keep people, pets and debris out of the water when nobody's swimming.

It's a cover that anchors to the deck and carries weight, rather than just lying on the surface. A mesh style lets rain and snowmelt drain through, while a solid style keeps out more light and debris. Either way, it's the cover that goes on at the end of the season.

That makes it a natural partner for a winter closing. Pool Docs handles closings under maintenance, so the pool can be shut down and covered in the same visit across the tri-state area.

Before the cover goes on, after it comes off

A cover is one part of the year. The rest of it is opening the pool, keeping it clear and closing it back down.
